About Roz Long

 

It can truly be said that Roz Long has a passion for art. In fact, she’s dedicated her vast career to the support and advancement of it.

Selected as 1 of 12 women from DuPage County to receive the Women of Distinction Award by Suburban Life Magazine for her achievement professionally and personally, her contributions to community and her ongoing support of the greater good.

Having received masters degrees in both Education/Special Education as well as Counselor Education, Roz began teaching high school students and also served as a counselor/career advisor to budding high school artists interested in pursuing a career in the arts. She continued this same role as a career advisor to students at the College of DuPage.

From there, Roz taught seminars on how to market art, and repped wearable art on behalf of boutiques, galleries and art museums across the U.S.

Roz has particularly helped the arts community of Elmhurst, Illinois, where she founded and produced the Elmhurst's 21st Annual Art in Wilder Park and Wilder Mansion's 6th Annual Holiday Market, and 3rd Annual Girls Nite Out

Additionally, Roz founded the Liberty Arts Building in Elmhurst and is a founding member of the Arte at Nite : Food for Life Committee. Her experience also includes past marketing director for Elmhurst City Centre.

Roz also wrote the book "Creative Journey of Bipolar Disorder", a touching story of the journey of a young man who faces living with bipolar disorder, and the hope he receives from his teacher to allow him to focus on his creative soul. More information about the book.

In summary, Roz's passion for both supporting the arts as well as educating the community on its importance shows no signs of slowing down. She is truly a person who enjoys her calling and continues to further her artistic cause in many original and exciting directions.
